I have had several opportunities to work with Joanna as a Deaf parent with Koda (Kids of Deaf Adults), as a professional teacher, an advocate and a Deaf activist. In all instances Joanna is a leader and a healer. She advocates for the advancement and recognition of ASL from cradle to grave. Joanna strives to keep up with the latest developments in ASL-English development and travels extensively to participate in educational opportunities. Joanna is concerned about all aspects of Deaf life which include the linguistic, cultural and social emotional rights of all Deaf people. ~Diane Hazel Jones, M.A. Deaf Education, Certified ASL-English Interpreter
